The “Wheel Profile” module allows for the precise measurement of an entire wheel profile cross section within a few seconds. Alongside the key wheel flange dimensions (height, width, qR), the wheel width, hollow tread as well as the rollover are determined. The “Wheel Profile” module can be applied for all common heavy as well as light rail wheels.

The "Wheel Profile" CALIPRI module evaluates the wear and dimensional accuracy of railway vehicles free from human error. The non-contact measurement devices are based on laser light section technology, thus ensuring highly accurate and reproducible measured data. In a matter of seconds, the most important measured variables appear on the sensor and are automatically compared to individual limit values. The actual and target contours are shown in color on the tablet PC.
The "Defects" CALIPRI C4X module helps users distinguish between critical and non-critical surface defects. Flat spots and spalling are evaluated with the non-contact measurement device, which is based on laser light section technology. An acoustic guide helps the user to position the measurement device. During the measurement operation itself, the sensor is simply aimed at the defect – there is no need to apply or precisely plot it. If there is a signal, it is a critical defect and the width and depth are calculated. After the measurement, the width and depth of the defect are shown on the sensor and the tablet PC and are automatically compared to the limit values entered.

The "Radial/Axial Runout" CALIPRI C4X module replaces traditional radial runout measurement operations using dial gages and also makes it possible to evaluate the axial runout of a railway vehicle wheel in the same step. With the CALIPRI sensor, the user records the relative radial and axial movement of the wheel profile during one wheel rotation. After the measurement, the ovality, eccentricity and possible lateral runout of the wheel are evaluated on the tablet PC.

The "Rail" CALIPRI C4X module makes it possible to measure an entire rail head cross section and calculate the most important non-dimensional quantities and wear parameters in a matter of seconds. In addition to essential measurements, like rail head width and radius, vertical and lateral wear are determined through comparison with the standard profile. Due to the use of an optical measurement method, there is no need for error-prone contact with the rail surface. The measurement module is suitable for on-site rail head wear measurements, as well as final quality inspections of complete rail cross sections during production. The measurement results are clearly displayed on the sensor and the tablet PC.
